It’s now been 3 months since the launch of this blog, and looking back on what I’ve learned as a doggy seeking insightful content, I realize that being in a band and trying to live off it, when looking at the odds, has something of a wreckless behavior (sentence to be taken lightly). It is one of the hardest jobs there is, and having to deal with fake recognition, with people saying you rock when you perfectly know they are not sincere just makes it all worse. Then again following any type of passion, whether it being trying to build the first perpetual movement mechanism, or wanting to become president of the United States, when considering the odds, can also be considered pure wreckless behavior. Anyways, yesterday night I decided to launch a new topic on the BandMix forums to see how others felt about their music careers. The title goes like this:
Well I didn’t have to wait long before getting an answer, and this was at 3am. Here is one particular comment that grabbed my attention. A simple list of things that many will probably relate to.
I know the creative process along with playing our pants off outweighs the negative sides, maybe not when trying to get food on the table, but still, at the end of the day how damn good it feels to be a musician. Being in a band can get a tad depressing and this list can go on and on. I’m planning on asking what the upsides are but afraid not to get any replies:) Might as well do that now actually. Anyone in favor of being part of band, raise your hand and leave a comment explaining why all the hassle makes it worthwhile.
