SyncLive is an entertainment and music community website that lets bands broadcast live shows in real time. We were waiting for such a service for some time. DeepRockDrive does the same thing but on a whole different level as thousands of fans must vote so you can get a chance to perform in their live-venue/studio space. SyncLive is just a tool bands can use anywhere and anytime. You create an account, download Flash Media Live Encoder, set up a couple of features in your profile and you’re ready to play live to all your fans that can’t make it to your show.
The website is top notch, love the interface and navigation features. You can create your band profile to host your shows and network with other bands. You can also create your virtual venue where you host concerts of your choice. The interesting part is that SyncLive caters as much to real live venues as it does to bands. Venues are hopping on board creating their profile and hosting the shows performed on their stages.
Since the quality of the videos depend on the camera used and the venue’s internet connection you can’t expect the experience to be perfect each time. Some shows really look like crap. Plus I’m under the impression many shows are scheduled and don’t get streamed, probably because bands have a hard enough time setting themselves up for the event and don’t want to waste time on last-minute computer-related-technical-issues. But still, some concerts are awesome and reflect what the future holds for online shows.
SyncLive is definitely a solution bands should look into.
