If you like gadgets, there’s a chance you’ll be interested in knowing an object such as this exists:
An mp3 player that can also play CDs. Converters must be pretty crappy, but who cares? It’s a cool gadget.
Quality of product is hardly a gadget’s main feature, but engineering and design are. That sort of comprise is essential so the gadget can be profitable – but people that are experienced or passionate in audio hardware won’t go for that comprise. I can’t for the life of me imagine an audiophile who would consider buying such a disgrace to digital audio conversion.
Well I don’t think I would buy it either but I love knowing that that kind of stuff exists.
When I first saw this image I thought it was something brand new that had just hit the shelves in remote stores of Akihabara (a neighborhood in Tokyo dedicated to the release of Japan’s latest gizmos). Apparently this dual music player isn’t so much a product as it is a concept, but it still looks darn cool.
The site where I found this gadget is a web magazine dedicated to the best modern cutting-edge technology there is. It’s called Yanko design, and I definitely recommend it if you like technology+design. Should I mention that it’ll eat your free time for lunch? Search for music and you’ll be displayed pages and pages of gadgety-musical-madness ranging from xylophone blinds to toy ‘vinyl tracks’ played by an electric trains.
(Utterly useless and irritating, maybe. Awesome, absolutely)
