Just stumbled upon some amazing famous rock star portraits done entirely with cassette tapes. The amount of detail and realism portrayed from these works leaves me somewhat speechless. The only “art” I ever got out of magnetic tape was probably only a couple of ill-formed fluffy balls I angrily mashed up together when my favorite cassettes died on me.
The artist who conceived the portraits bellow names herself iRI5. “Her works are often noted for their unique style, elegance, and technique. iRI5 has developed an innovative style that focuses on recycling found materials, such as old cassettes and used books, turning trash into treasure.”

I know album art is in a pickle these days with physical CD sales down the drain and all, but still, if I were comin’ out with an album soon, I would totally contact her and see if we could work something out.
